A section of Freeman Street is expected to stay closed until next week following complications linked to the third burst water main on the street within a year.
Although this latest issue involves a different pipe, it has affected the same stretch of road, leaving businesses and residents facing further disruption until at least Monday 3 November.
A partial road closure remains in place between Duncombe Street and Garibaldi Street, with traffic diverted while repair work continues.
Anglian Water apologised for the disruption and said it is “investigating potential long-term solutions” to prevent future problems.
