Meet your new Big Brother Australia housemates for 2025

Big Brother Australia is officially back!

After a two-year hiatus, the reality TV fan favourite is returning to its home on Channel 10 for a brand new season that the network has hinted will be “unscripted, unfiltered [and] unmissable.”

This year, the show is returning to its roots at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast in a brand new house, where a diverse cast will be live-streamed 24/7 to viewers across the country.

With over 20,000 applications to star on the rebooted series, producers had their work cut out for them when selecting which prospective cast members would make the perfect housemate. Scroll on for everything we know about which Australians will be starring on Big Brother Australia season 17.

Who is in the cast of Big Brother Australia 2025?

Unfortunately for fans, we won’t know which 12 everyday Aussies are entering until the first episode airs on Sunday, November 9.

Host Mel Tracina has, however, hinted at what viewers can expect from the cast ahead of the season premiere in a tell-all interview with TV Tonight.

“12 housemates enter the house at launch……I think it’s a [really] great cross range of Australians that will be heading into the house from all different walks of life, different ages.”

“We’ve got some that have admitted to being clean freaks, which I think will be very exciting to see unfold in the house. We have an ex Pro Surfer, an MMA fighter, a single mum, a real range…”

In the same interview, 10 Executive Producer Sarah Thornton shed further light on the cast, including some “big characters” she’s sure will ruffle some feathers.

“Some of the people in there are totally larger than life. We’ve got a 23-year-old virgin. We’ve got a bachelor in his 30s who’s never had a relationship and showers five times a day. Everyone’s got something to them.”

The cast also includes a housemate, she says was an “incredibly risky choice” for producers to cast.

“There’s a young man who’s in his mid-20s, who believes that we should live like it’s the 70s, and women should be homemakers, and men should come home with fish and chips.”

“There’s a real cross-section of characters who are, I think, all lovable in their own way. But also, there are some firecrackers,” she added.

In a prior interview with The Watchlist, Mel also confirmed that the age range of housemates spanned “across five decades” and that the housemates hailed from Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales.

“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan,” the star divulged.

“We have blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. We have a diverse range. [and] a pretty good gender split,” she added.
