It was not a memorable return to the Australian side for Glenn Maxwell, who was dismissed for just two off four deliveries in the fourth T20 International (T20I) against India at the Carrara Oval on November 6 (Thursday). He was cleaned up by Varun Chakaravarthy when Australia needed over 12 an over to win the match.
Chakaravarthy has now dismissed Maxwell on six occasions in T20 cricket – the most for the Indian spinner.

Moreover, only Jasprit Bumrah (7) and Ravindra Jadeja (7) have dismissed Maxwell on more occasions than Chakaravarthy (6).
Maxwell returned to the XI after an injury layoff. He walked in at seven with 70 needed off 41 deliveries. However, some tight bowling from Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar saw the Australian batter go for a slog. He missed the ball completely, and it just kissed the wickets.
Having set Australia 168 to win, they were going well before they lost a flurry of wickets. They eventually lost the match by 48 runs and with that, India have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The two teams will clash at the Gabba on November 8 (Saturday).
