Wind and power outages causing school cancelation in Northern N.S.

High winds and power outages have forced the closure of some schools in Nova Scotia today.

CSAP-operated Beau-Port School is closed for the day due to a power outage affecting the area.

Meanwhile, at NDA School, morning bus transportation has been cancelled because of high winds. The school is still open, but those who take the bus will either have to take the day off or find alternative transportation.

School management at NDA says they will update families later in the day to confirm whether afternoon transportation will go ahead.

NSCC Strait Area Campus has also called off classes due to a power outage overnight that has an estimated time of restoration of 2:00 p.m.
