PWHL Vancouver and Seattle teams announce names, logos

The PWHL unveiled the names and logos of its two newest clubs ahead of their inaugural campaign.
The Vancouver Goldeneyes and Seattle Torrent will begin play this season, bringing the total of teams in the PWHL to eight.
The name Goldeneyes is inspired by the fiercely protective Common Goldeneye, a bird native to Vancouver’s waterways, coastlines, and mountain vistas. The team’s logo, a bold golden eye encircled by wings and pointing to the Pacific Northwest, features a colour palette of the team’s primary colours, Pacific Blue, Coastal Cream, and Earthy Bronze, with hints of Sunset Gold and Sky Blue.
The Torrent is a call to the waterways that connect Washington’s unique landscape. The logo features an “S” that serves as both a letterform for Seattle and a rush of water, its flowing curves mirroring river channels. The primary color palette of Slate Green and Blue — both Shadow and Glacier Blue — reflects the distinctive ways in which Seattle’s waterways shape the region and pays tribute to Seattle’s unique sports community.
The two teams will join the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres in the PWHL’s third season.
Last month Vancouver and Seattle unveiled its jerseys for its inaugural season following the same format as the Year 1 sweaters that the PWHL’s six original teams wore, with the city name stitched diagonally across the front.
The logo for both the Goldeneyes and Torrent will be incorporated into the jerseys for the 2026-27 season.
Vancouver’s jersey colour palette was inspired by the city’s natural surroundings, and features pacific blue and cream with an earthy bronze accent.
