How (and when) to watch Pluribus in Australia

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are easily two of the most influential TV shows of the Peak TV era. Every day that has passed since the latter’s 2022 series finale, fans have been wondering what’s next from creator and auteur Vince Gilligan, and earlier this year, they got their answer: PLUR1BUS.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Apple TV exclusive, including how and when to watch it when it premieres in Australia.

How to watch Pluribus in Australia

After the raging success of both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, every streaming exec and their gold-plated dog would have been courting Vince Gilligan, but in the end, it was Apple TV that locked down his next hit. Pluribus will be exclusive to those with an Apple TV subscription indefinitely (Apple TV originals aren’t available to purchase or rent separately). Apple TV subscriptions cost $15.99 per month or $129 per year if you pay annually (saving yourself $63 per year).

There are several Apple TV deals available, too. One such deal is Apple One, a service that bundles multiple Apple apps under a single subscription. The Apple One Individual plan, for example, gets you Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade and 50GB of iCloud Storage. That’s over $40 of value for $24.95 per month. It also comes with a 30-day free trial, which is much longer than Apple TV’s standard 7-day free trial.

Here’s what other Apple One bundles get you:

When do new episodes of Pluribus release in Australia?

Pluribus premieres on Friday, November 7, with a double-episode debut. The remaining seven episodes of the first season will be released weekly every Friday. That means the season finale will drop the day after Christmas. Hopefully, that’s an indication that we’ll get a happy ending.

Here’s the episode release schedule for Australia:

  • Episodes 1 & 2: Friday, November 7
  • Episode 3: Friday, November 14
  • Episode 4: Friday, November 21
  • Episode 5: Friday, November 28
  • Episode 6: Friday, December 5
  • Episode 7: Friday, December 12
  • Episode 8: Friday, December 19
  • Episode 9: Friday, December 26

What is Pluribus about?

In Apple TV’s sci-fi drama Pluribus, Vince Gilligan will once again pair up with Rhea Seehorn, who played Saul Goodman’s confidante Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul.

Seehorn stars as Carol Sturka, a depressed author living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also seemingly the only person in the world who is immune to a viral contagion that has spread across the globe. The virus turns society into an endorphin-ravaged hivemind of peace and unity. Which sounds nice, unless you’re the most miserable person on the planet. The trailer doesn’t give us much to go off, but it’s reminiscent of a bubblier Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Gilligan has hinted that Pluribus will be his most hopeful work yet, even nicknaming the project “Breaking Good”.

Apple certainly seems to be happy with the results so far, as a second season has been greenlit before the first has even premiered.

Creator: Vince Gilligan | Cast: Rhea Seehorn, Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga
