Shelbourne Football Club is delighted to announce that the formal agreements with Dublin City Council for a 250-year lease of Tolka Park have been completed

Dublin, Tuesday 4 November 2025 – Shelbourne Football Club is delighted to announce that the formal agreements with Dublin City Council for a 250-year lease of Tolka Park have been completed, securing the long-term home of the club for generations to come.
The agreements follow the decision of Dublin City Council in May 2024 to approve the sale of Tolka Park to Shelbourne FC by way of long lease. The signing of these agreements represents the completion of that process and marks the beginning of the next chapter in Tolka Park’s proud history.
Under the terms of the lease, Tolka will undergo a phased programme of refurbishment works designed to preserve its character while improving facilities for players, supporters and the wider community across Drumcondra and north Dublin.
The club will also continue to invest in football development and community programmes across the city, including the employment of multiple full-time Community Officers as part of the agreements.
Shelbourne FC wish to thank all those involved in achieving this milestone including our current and past board members and shareholders who worked towards securing the future of Tolka Park. We would also like to recognise and appreciate the efforts of all those involved in the Save Tolka Park campaign who were pivotal to this achievement and of course show our appreciation to the executive and councillors of Dublin City Council. Shelbourne FC owes a debt of gratitude to all those both past and present who contributed to saving this much treasured piece of Irish football history.
Speaking on the signing of the lease, Shelbourne FC CEO Tomás Quinn said:
“Securing Tolka Park as the long term home of Shelbourne FC is a pivotal moment in the history of this great club. As we look ahead with excitement to our continued progression both on and off the pitch, Tolka Park will continue to play a crucial role in our future. It holds a special place in the hearts of our supporters, players and staff and we look forward to thriving at Tolka for the next 250 years”
