Monty Python fans sent into meltdown as BBC cast finally reunite

Monty Python fans were left delighted after three of the surviving members reunited in a sweet photo. John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin got together to support Terry at a live event in London. There are currently four surviving members of the British comedy group, best known for their BBC sketch series and film projects, such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Eric Idle is the other member who was not present at the reunion. The Monty Python group was formed in 1969 and consisted of Michael alongside John, Eric, Terry, Graham Chapman, and Terry Jones.
John posted an adorable photo of the group on Instagram, to which he added the caption: “A couple of Pythons in the wild after a well-attended evening about Terry Gilliam’s films at Cadogan Hall.”
The event marked a celebration of Terry Gilliam’s life and career, titled Terry Gilliam – Celebrating 50 Years in Film. The official description teased that the event would look back on highlights from his career, with specially selected clips from his most celebrated works.
One person replied to the photo on Instagram saying: “It’s so lovely to see photos of you still together!” A second person said: “Ah lads! This post should have a million likes! Good to see you all looking so well!”
A third also chimed in: “They seem to look mighty fine and reasonably happy!…given the special occasion…and company!”
A fourth also said: “What an honour to see some of the persons who have impressed me most during the last decades, still spending time together. I hope you all have a wonderful evening.”
In 2023, Michael’s wife tragically passed away after suffering from kidney failure and chronic pain. The pair had been married for 57 years and first met when they were both 16 years old.
Following his Monty Python days, Michael has also enjoyed a successful career as a television presenter. He spent the last four decades travelling the world, from war-torn countries such as Iraq, to trekking through the Sahara Desert.
Meanwhile, John has launched a new documentary titled ‘John Cleese Packs It In,’ which follows the beloved comedian as he visits 16 cities in five countries in just six weeks.
