Daylight Saving Time might have been the day before but fall in New York City certainly began November 3 when Dia Art Foundation held its annual Fall Night gala. This year, the organization honored artists Melvin Edwards and Meg Webster at the event, which was held at Dia’s West 26th Street space.
Guests like Sukey Novogratz, Scott Rothkopf, Salman Rushdie, Olivier Sarkozy, Ivy Shapiro, Tyler Mitchell, Pat Steir, Jeanne Greenberg Rohayn, and more enjoyed cocktails—and some popped down to West 22nd Street, where Dia’s galleries were open for viewing—before a seated dinner catered by Olivier Cheng, which included remarks from board chair Nathalie de Gunzburg, director Jessica Morgan, Sanford Biggers, and Steven Holl. Proceeds from the event support Dia initiatives including programming, commissions, and upcoming restoration projects.
