RJ Harvey emerging as a key receiving weapon for Broncos

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey is on pace to total 700 yards from scrimmage and score double-digit touchdowns this season. Not bad for a rookie playing second fiddle behind veteran J.K. Dobbins.

Harvey has rushed 46 times for 205 yards and two scores this season, averaging 4.5 yards per tote. He’s also making an impact as a receiver out of the backfield with 23 receptions for 166 yards and four scores (7.2 yards per catch).

Harvey has hauled in a touchdown catch in three consecutive games — making him the first Broncos rookie to ever do so — and his four receiving scores are tied with Emeke Egbuka for the most among rookies this season.

Harvey’s four receiving touchdowns are also a franchise record for a rookie running back, and he’s got eight more games this season to build on that total.

“We’re just starting to see right in front of our eyes is the guy that we felt strongly about and he can go,” coach Sean Payton said of Harvey. “He and Dobbins, that one-two combination is nice to have as a coach.”

Dobbins and Harvey have combined to total 1,096 yards from scrimmage and score 10 touchdowns this season. They have proven to be a dynamic duo in Payton’s offense.
