Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office arrests six in targeted warrant sweep

Six men were arrested Tuesday following an ‘aggressive’ law enforcement campaign from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies targeted people who were wanted on active warrants in the area.

The six men arrested had warrants for crimes including theft of property, credit or debit card abuse, and assault:

  1. John Vanbibber, 53, was charged with Theft of Property of $30,000 or more. His bond is set at $25,000.
  2. John Jones, 23, was charged with Assault of a Pregnant Person. His bond is set at $15,000.
  3. Devin Smith, 36, was charged with Theft of Property of $30,000 or more. His bond is $15,000.
  4. Cesar Ponder, 53, was charged with Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury. His bond is $25,000.
  5. Jacob Weaver, 20, was charged with Credit or Debit Card Abuse. His bond is $15,000.
  6. Bryan Livingston, 23, was charged with Credit or Debit Card Abuse. His bond is $15,000.

Tom Green County Sheriff Nick Hanna commended everyone who was involved in the investigation and arrests.

“Our office remains committed to ensuring that those with outstanding warrants are held accountable,” said Sheriff Hanna. “These efforts are part of our ongoing mission to keep Tom Green County safe through proactive law enforcement.”

Sheriff Hanna said the Sheriff’s Office will continue its warrant enforcement initiatives throughout the year.
