The Toronto Maple Leafs are dominating on offense as their top forwards are leading the league.

The Toronto Maple Leafs offense has faced the challenge over how they’ll be able to make up for the loss of Mitch Marner and his 102 points. So far this season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have gotten success from the players they wanted to succeed, and it’s driving Toronto into a top offense in the NHL.

Toronto’s Core Is Driving the Offense Every Night

The Toronto Maple Leafs are succeeding this season offensively, and their new “core-four” are the reason as to why.

In a truly ridiculous stat, three of the Leafs top forwards, Nylander, Knies, & Tavares, lead the league in even-strength points, Nylander leading with 18, Knies & Tavares in second with 16.

William Nylander is leading the way for Toronto, having six goals and 20 points in 11 games for the Leafs, tied for third in points despite missing three games.

Along with Nylander, Tavares and Knies each have 18 points in 14 games this season for Toronto, 16 of those on even strength.

Knies leads the league in even strength assists with 13, Nylander second with 12, and Tavares tied for third. Notably in fifth is Marner.

Auston Matthews is tied for 5th in even strength goals with seven, but has a quiet 12 points in 14 games, as quiet as Matthews can be.

Despite Matthews still working to get back to his old self after missing parts of last season, overall offense has been a strength for Toronto, and coming up heavily at 5-on-5 in a big way.

What This Says About the Leafs’ Dominance at Five-on-Five

The stats show that the Toronto Maple Leafs offense is succeeding, in large part to their key forwards.

However, the rest of the Leafs offense is still working to catch up. Nick Robertson and Matias Maccelli are the next forwards up with seven points, with both having played on the top-six, but have also been off of it.

The offense overall has seen a growth in bottom-six scoring, but Toronto was still hoping for more from their depth forwards.

Toronto leads the NHL in goals scored with 52, but with half coming from their four star forwards, with the team needing to add more in support.

But it says more than anything that at even strength, the Toronto Maple Leafs are seeing dominance, and have easily managed to get the offense going despite losing an important piece up top, and as they hoped, could ultimately be for the best.
