November 11 Marks a New Era for Solo Leveling

While the Solo Leveling fan base continues to endure the long wait for the anime’s Season 3 announcement, the franchise is far from dormant. The official sequel webtoon, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, is set to make its return this month.

Per Tapas, the official English translation of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Season 2 will launch on Nov. 11 on the platform. Following its return, the series will be updated with new chapters regularly on Saturdays. The webtoon adaptation by JIN and Brix of Redice Studio concluded its first season on June 21, 2025, with Chapter 47. This official English launch follows the Korean version of the webtoon, which began serializing its second season on Kakaopage on Aug. 6, 2025, and already has over a dozen new chapters available.

The Solo Leveling: Ragnarok webtoon is based on the sequel web novel by Daul, a successor hand-picked by original author Chugong to continue the story. This sequel shifts the focus from Sung Jinwoo to the next generation — introducing his son, Sung Suho, as the protagonist. Suho’s story begins with him living a normal life, his immense powers having been sealed by his father for his own protection. This peace shatters with the arrival of the “Itarim,” or Outer Gods, a cosmic threat even more powerful than the Monarchs that Jinwoo famously defeated. With Jinwoo occupied fighting this new enemy in another dimension, it falls to Suho, guided by Beru, to awaken his sealed abilities, level up and harness his inheritance to defend Earth. At NYCC 2025, Yen Press announced that it will release Solo Leveling: Ragnarok’s print version in the U.S. under its Ize Press imprint.

While the webtoon returning for a second season is indeed good news, the release comes at a curious time for the franchise. The Ragnarok web novel, which the webtoon is based on, came to a sudden end after 375 chapters in July 2025. While Chugong had initially expressed his full support for Daul, the original author dropped a bombshell on the community in a recent October 2025 interview that recontextualized the entire sequel. In the interview, Chugong stated that Ragnarok was “a spin-off created for fanservice,” explaining that he was merely “curious to see how another author would write Solo Leveling.” He added that the sequel should be viewed as “one of many possible scenarios — similar to Marvel’s parallel universes,” rather than a direct, definitive continuation of his main plot.

While the Ragnarok webtoon adaptation is set to continue adapting the novel’s extensive story, Chugong’s statement has placed the sequel in a unique position. The original author’s clarification about Ragnarok being an alternate timeline was immediately followed by a hint that Chugong himself might pen a new continuation for the Solo Leveling series, opening the door for what fans might consider a true sequel from the series creator.

For now, the Solo Leveling universe is expanding on multiple fronts, with a live-action Netflix adaptation and a potential film being discussed. The massive global success of the anime’s first two parts has fueled anticipation for any new content, and the upcoming Season 2 of Ragnarok webtoon will remain a significant part of the franchise, giving fans a new story to follow as they await the next major chapter for Sung Jinwoo.
