Talking about players reborn.

Brighton’s Danny Welbeck has been in fine form this season.

The 34-year-old former Manchester United and Arsenal forward has always had international pedigree, but his career has been blighted by injuries.

He has scored 16 goals in 42 games for England, going to the 2012 Euros and World Cups in 2014 and 2018, but has not featured for the Three Lions since winning his last cap in September 2018.

Welbeck is enjoying an Indian summer at Brighton, regularly lauded for his all-round contribution as a focal point of the team, he is also weighing in with some key goals this season.

He is second in the Premier League scoring charts with six, prompting Wayne Rooney to lead the calls for his former United team-mate to earn a recall to the England squad.

Welbeck’s team manager, Fabian Hurzeler, said this week he would not swap him for any other player.

If you were Thomas Tuchel, would you give Welbeck another England chance? Thumbs up for yes, down for no.
