Face-to-face classes suspended in Manila due to Iglesia ni Cristo rallies

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has declared the suspension of face-to-face classes on November 17 and 18, in line with the rallies to be held by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) at the Luneta.

In a statement on Thursday, Moreno ordered all schools in Manila to shift to Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) on the affected days.

“I am ordering the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels on November 17 and 18. All schools are advised to implement the Alternative Delivery Mode or ADM,” he said.

Moreno said that Manila will provide perimeter support throughout the event, including traffic and security, as well as 14 ambulances stationed at key locations.

“While we know that the INC is very organized whenever it holds a rally, the City Government of Manila will deploy teams to monitor and provide assistance outside Rizal Park,” said Moreno.

“We want to make sure the surroundings remain orderly even beyond the main rally grounds,” he added.

Earlier, the Philippine National Police (PNP) shared that 300,000 individuals are expected to participate in the event that will take place for three days from November 17 to 19. –NB, GMA Integrated News
