Former NXT talent Ridge Holland (Luke Menzies) has reportedly been let go from his WWE deal a week early following comments he made online regarding his forthcoming departure from the company.
Holland was notified last month by WWE that the promotion wouldn’t renew his contract after it expires on November 14, ending a multi-year run wrestling under the company’s banner.
The news came shortly after he suffered a Lisfranc foot injury while working a TNA TV taping, representing the NXT brand at the event. The setback is expected to keep him out of action through to 2026.
While Holland has noted that WWE is covering surgery and physical therapy costs for the injury, he said in a post earlier this week that the promotion had done the “bare minimum” for him.
“I feel like I’ve just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE,” he said. “Add to that my contract not being renewed knowing that I wouldn’t be able to wrestle for 7 months. This is brutal.”
The airing of grievances caused WWE to terminate his contract this week, per Fightful Select. The report says that WWE saw his posts as a “breach,” allowing them the chance to let him go just days before his deal was set to conclude.
Update 2:30 p.m. ET: Holland has been moved to the “Alumni” section of WWE.com’s roster.
