The National Weather Service says snow is in the Akron-Canton forecast for the first time this season.
The culprit is a powerful and chilly storm system that is expected to arrive over the weekend.
The weekend will start out rainy with showers expected on Nov. 7.
As much as a half an inch of rain could fall.
It will be windy too.
Wind gusts of up to 37 mph are possible too.
Sunny skies with highs in the 50s are expected on Nov. 8 before things go downhill.
When is snow expected to arrive in Canton?
A cold front is expected to arrive in northern Ohio on Nov. 9.
Rain is in the forecast for Nov. 9, the weather service says, with snowflakes mixing in early Nov. 10.
The threat of snow showers sticks around through Nov. 11.
There is a risk for heavier snow in the traditional snowbelt areas south of Lake Erie.
It will be chilly, too.
The weather service says lows will be in the 20s with windchills in the teens are likely Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.
Historically, the first measurable snowfall in the Akron-Canton region is around Nov. 9.
