NORRÖNA, which has capacity for 1,482 passengers, will depart Tórshavn on 14 January and arrive in Oslo on the morning of 16 January. The ferry will then serve as a base and hotel for Faroese supporters while docked at Akershuskaia, Oslo’s most centrally located cruise pier, until the return voyage to the North Atlantic departs at midnight on 20 January.
Smyril Line told the Norwegian news agency NTB that all 1,000 places allocated for the handball voyage are sold out – meaning that nearly 1 in 50 Faroese citizens will be on board.
