Princess Charlene and Harley come together for a cause at the Rokethon

Under the Chapiteau de Fontvieille, Princess Charlene took part in the second edition of the walk dedicated to the fight against animal abandonment, with her trademark elegance and natural ease.

A highly-anticipated visit and shared emotion

On Sunday afternoon, the Princess attended the second edition of the Rokethon, an initiative that turns a dog walk into an act of advocacy. As President of the Monaco SPA (Monaco Société Protectrice des Animaux – animal protection society), she could not miss this now firmly established event in Monaco’s community calendar. At her side was her faithful four-legged companion Harley, her eight-year-old chihuahua.

Dressed in jeans and a camel MaxMara parka, the Princess opted for simplicity, blending seamlessly into the crowd of owners showing their commitment. Accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of her Foundation, she completed the symbolic one-kilometre loop around the Chapiteau de Fontvieille, reflecting the warmth and approachability that define her work for animals.

Meetings and shared moments

The Princess then attended a parade of dogs available for adoption, before visiting workshops and stands dedicated to animal protection. She also met Lee Ji-yeon, Korean representative of the charity Last Chance for Animals. The meeting gave her the opportunity to learn about the landmark legislative victory achieved in 2024 in South Korea, which now bans the breeding, slaughter and sale of dogs for the meat trade.

Between adoptable dog parades, fun workshops and information stands, the Rokethon once again lived up to expectations. The funds raised will benefit the SPA Monaco, as well as the charities Brin de Chance (Nice) and Nos Amis pour la Vie (Marrakesh). As Sylvia Sermenghi, President of Rokethon Monaco reminded everyone, an animal is not an object – it is a responsibility, a commitment and part of the family.
