Emmerdale star Lisa Riley issues sweet ‘baby’ announcement as fans left thrilled
Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley has been supported by fans after sharing a sweet “baby” announcement.
The actress shot to fame when she joined the ITV soap in 1995, playing Mandy Dingle – and it’s fair to say it didn’t take her long to become a firm favourite with fans.
Mandy has also been involved in several big storylines over the year: from her beloved relationship with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) to financial struggles that led her to become a financial dominatrix online.
Away from the soap though, Lisa has been with American partner Al for over 10 years. The pair first met at a Strictly Come Dancing tour event in 2014 and four years later they got engaged.
Lisa has appeared on Emmerdale for years
And recently, Lisa shared a sweet tribute to her “baby” Al. Taking to her Instagram, the soap star shared several loved-up snaps of her and her musician beau celebrating his birthday. As well as selfies of the couple, Lisa also showed off Al’s impressive travel-inspired cake.
In the caption Lisa wrote: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BABY, me and all the family Al are wishing you all the love and laughter in the world on your special day-glad we had the most gorgeous day yesterday celebrating. Today is all about you.”

Lisa’s fans rushed to the comments section to send their well-wishes to her beau. One person wrote: “Happy birthday Al, have a great day! Hope Lisa is spoiling you.”
Another added: “Happy birthday to your man hope he has a great day. A third chimed in: “Happy birthday photo number 1 is beautiful of you both.”

Despite being engaged for several years, Lisa has previously shared why she and Al have chosen not to get married.
She said: “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it… We’re very happy as we are and while I love wearing the beautiful ring Al gave me, I’ve never been the kind of girl who longs for a big, flouncy day with a horse and carriage.
“That kind of thing gives me the ick, to be honest. I’m never going to change my name, so really, what would be the difference? We call each other husband and wife, and have been together for nine years.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
