Outages spanning Pierce, Thurston Counties impact thousands of residents

Thousands of people across Western Washington are without power after weather-driven outages affecting Tacoma Public Utilities, Peninsula Light Company and Puget Sound Energy.
About 2,800 Tacoma Power customers lack power from 6 outages, with the majority occurring in Puyallup near Summit View, according to the site’s outage map as of 7 p.m.
Near the Peninsula, over 2,000 customers are experiencing 32 total outages impacting just over 2,000 customers, according to the Peninsula Light Company’s outage map. . Around 1,500 customers lack power in Vaughn along its east cost and north of Vaughn Bay, and about 450 of those are located along Hunt Street Northwest in Gig Harbor.
Around 5,500 Puget Sound Energy customers lack power across Western Washington. One major area power loss is in Auburn near Ballard Park where 460 customers are without power, as seen on their outage map.
In Yelm, 96 customers near Yelm High School are still waiting for power. In Olympia, 111 customers near Newberry Lane Southeast lost power as well.
