A one-year-old girl has died after being hit by a freight train in northern NSW.
The child was walking along the road in Baan Baa, near Narrabri on Friday, when she was clipped by the train.
Emergency services responded to the incident about 7.50pm with NSW Ambulance paramedics treating the baby for serious injuries before she was taken to hospital.
The one-year-old died in hospital.
The train driver, a 22-year-old man, was uninjured and has been take to hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
