Rocky Mountain Power outage impacting estimated 18,500 in Salt Lake County

SALT LAKE CITY – A power outage impacted approximately 18,521 customers in Salt Lake County, Rocky Mountain Power said Friday.
RMP reported the outage was caused by the loss of a substation. RMP initially estimated the power would be restored at approximately 8:30 p.m. At 2:56 p.m., RMP said in a post on X that power was restored for 12,984 customers.
For the 5,537 customers who are still without power, RMP estimated power would be restored at 10:30 p.m. as crews continued working to resolve the issue.
No further information was immediately available.
