Olivia Rodrigo Torches Trump Admin Over ICE Video Using Her Song: ‘Racist, Hateful Propaganda’

Olivia Rodrigo has blasted the Trump administration after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) used her song “All-American Btch”* in a new video urging undocumented immigrants to self-deport. The 22-year-old pop star called out the use of her music on Friday, accusing the administration of spreading “racist, hateful propaganda.”

The DHS video, posted Wednesday on Instagram, featured the caption: “LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don’t, you will face the consequences.” The clip used Rodrigo’s 2023 hit song, sparking outrage among her fans. In a now-removed comment captured in screenshots across social media, Rodrigo responded: “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.”

Rodrigo, who is Filipino American, with her father’s family hailing from the Philippines and her mother of German and Irish descent, has long been outspoken about US immigration policies. “I’ve lived in LA my whole life and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbors under the current administration,” she said in June, amid nationwide anti-ICE protests.

“LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants,” she added. “Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful. I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”

This isn’t the first time Rodrigo has clashed with the Trump administration over unauthorized use of her music. In November 2024, her hit “deja vu” was featured in a Team Trump TikTok post celebrating his second presidential election victory. The singer quickly responded in the comments, writing, “Ew don’t use my sound ever again ty.” The song was removed shortly after.
