The Orlando Magic entered the new NBA season as one of the favorite sleepers to win. This Magic team has all the tools to be successful, and with the Eastern Conference expected to be weaker this year, it could see Orlando take some big strides this year.

Orlando is led by star forward Paolo Banchero, and he has gotten better every season in the league. However, he can’t do it alone, and others on the roster will need to step up for the Magic to find success.

Far too often last season, the Magic fell short due to problems on offense, specifically shooting the ball from beyond the 3-point line. Orlando fought hard in the postseason, but they couldn’t match the Boston Celtics in the series.

The front office addressed this over the summer, bringing in star guard Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies. Bane is a lethal shooter from a distance, and he should be able to improve this offensive attack.

But the Magic may need more if they want to actually compete for a title this season. Orlando has big goals in mind, and it could see them be aggressive to make them happen.

This could see the Magic look to make some deals at the upcoming NBA trade deadline next spring. But how this all plays out remains one of the biggest questions around the NBA.

This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Anfernee Simons Finally Lands With Orlando Magic

One option for Orlando to consider could be a player that they have coveted for years, guard Anfernee Simons of the Boston Celtics. Simons has been a target of the Magic for a few years now, and he could instantly bolster this team for the better.

The Magic need help in the backcourt, even with the trade of Bane from the offseason. This could help them this year in the East, and Simons is on an expiring deal, so the team wouldn’t be committing to long-term salary.

Simons has emerged over the years as an explosive scoring guard, and he could really push the Magic forward. Due to his ability to both score the ball as well as run the offense, Simons could be a real help to Orlando.

The Celtics have reportedly wanted to flip Simons again after landing him this summer, and the Magic make a lot of sense for him. The veteran guard could give this team a real jolt on offense, and it could make them much more formidable this season.

If anything, Simons would increase the chances of this team making a run to the NBA Finals this season. The Magic have to address the backcourt problems, and this could be one option to find more success.
