The SEC shows off its depth in the first College Football Playoff rankings, outpacing the Big Ten.
Coming off a much-needed victory, No. 21 Southern California returns home to face Northwestern in a Week 11 Big Ten battle on Friday, Nov. 7.
It’s been nearly a month since the Trojans have played at home, but they have to be satisfied where their season stands. After beating Nebraska on the road, USC is No. 19 in the College Football Playoff standings, so the chance to make the playoff for the first time in program history remains very much in play.
The Wildcats are coming off a bye week after they narrowly lost to the Cornhuskers in Week 9. At 5-3, Northwestern is trying to secure bowl eligibility after it missed the last postseason. Achieving it will come with some history, as the Wildcats have never beaten USC; they are 0-5 all-time against the Trojans.
