One Piece: 7 Characters From Norse Mythology Oda Could Use In Elbaf

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
One Piece’s Elbaf arc is well underway, and fans know that this segment of the story is heavily inspired by Norse mythology. This was clear to the fans long before Elbaf even began, as it was hinted at around the Little Garden arc.
Now that Elbaf has officially begun, fans know that there is a lot of incredible stuff to look forward to, and above all, new characters to witness. Fans know Oda to take inspiration from legendary figures, and he will inevitably end up using some characters from Norse mythology for his version of Elbaf.
Loki
The Accursed Prince
Loki is a character that fans know exists in the world of One Piece. He was first introduced during the Whole Cake Island arc, where it was revealed that he wanted to marry Lola. Unfortunately, this did not come to pass. Now that Elbaf has begun, Loki has been introduced to the fans already. Fans know Loki to be a master of deception in Norse mythology, and incredibly cunning as well. The One Piece version of this character might retain these qualities.
Odin
A Mighty God
Odin is an incredibly well-known individual in Norse mythology. He is one of the strongest Gods of all, wielding his spear Gungnir, and often taking the form of ravens. Fans know Odin to be incredibly strong, and while it is unclear if this character truly does exist in One Piece, fans know that Loki certainly does exist, and his very own father, Odin, could be an inspiration for someone as well. This character could make for an incredibly exciting story arc, especially if he is revealed to be as strong as he is known to be in Norse mythology. Perhaps, the heaven realm of Elbaf will have something to do with him.
Thor
Loki’s Brother In Mythology
Known to be a symbol of bravery and strength, Thor, the lightning God, could very well be present in the Elbaf Arc of One Piece. Thor is Loki’s brother, and fans know him to be the most well-known Norse God of all. If Loki exists in One Piece, it is possible that Thor does as well.
He wields the hammer Mjolnir, and is known to possess tremendous amounts of strength. Hopefully, if One Piece truly does have Thor, it will be someone with a charming personality and mighty strength to back it up.
Jormungandr
The potential Serpent of Hellfire
Jormungandr is a massive snake known to be Loki’s offspring in mythology. It is also known to be one responsible for the end of the world. It is unlikely for the snake to be present in Elbaf. Curiously enough, Dorry and Brogy, the two Giants from Little Garden, referenced the snake soaked in red blood, referring to the Red Line. Given that this is the only legendary snake in Norse mythology connected to the likes of Loki and the other Gods, it could very well be involved in the story in one way or another. Oda has already introduced the Serpent of Hellfire in the Elbaf Mural, and it could be Jormungandr. This creature could show up through a Devil Fruit.
Bladr
The Child of Odin and Frigg
The likes of Loki might prove to be on the enemy side of the Strawhat Pirates in the elbaf arc, however, on the good side, characters such as Baldr could be introduced later in the arc. The child of Odin and Frigg, Baldr was believed to be the purest of all the Gods. Unfortunately, in Norse mythology, Baldr is eventually slain, and his death is believed to be a sign of Ragnarok impending.
If Oda does incorporate Baldr into the Elbaf arc, he’ll be an exciting individual, who, if he does die, might trigger the beginning of the Great War.
Freyja
A Goddess Of Norse Mythology
Of course, Oda would love to introduce some intriguing female characters in Elbaf as well. If he is to take inspiration from Norse mythology, perhaps Freyja is one character that he would love to introduce. Often associated with teams such as love, fertility, and beauty, Freyja could be one character that Oda incorporates into Elbaf. This wouldn’t be a surprise to any fan, given that Oda loves to have a proper female character be renowned as the most beautiful in various countries that he explores.
For instance, Fishman Island had Shirahoshi. Meanwhile, Wano Country had Komurasaki, while Boa Hancock is generally believed to be the most beautiful. Perhaps, Freyja could be somewhat of a similar character, far more important than the likes of Komurasaki and more intriguing as well. She could be introduced in the Heaven Realm of Elbaf.
Fenrir
A Legendary Wolf
Another offspring of Loki, Fenrir was an offspring of Loki, was just like Jormungandr. It is believed to be so strong that it was eventually a threat to the Gods themselves. Fenrir could show up as a Devil Fruit in One Piece, possibly wielded by Loki. It would certainly set up an intriguing storyline, especially since it helps to bring about the end of the world in Norse mythology, and that’s exactly what Loki wants to do.
