Diamondbacks to host Team Mexico for exhibition game before World Baseball Classic

The Arizona Diamondbacks have a matchup against the Mexican national baseball team on their 2026 spring training schedule.
The D-backs will host Team Mexico for an exhibition game at Salt River Fields on March 3, three days before Mexico will begin its World Baseball Classic slate against Great Britain.
Mexico will also visit the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch on March 4.
Unlike 2023, Arizona is not hosting WBC games in 2026, but many national teams are playing tuneup games against major league squads during spring training.
World Baseball Classic matchups in spring training
Team USA will face the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium on March 3 and then the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields on March 4 before playing Brazil in its tournament opener in Houston on March 6.
Italy, Great Britain, Brazil and Cuba will all play exhibition games at Cactus League ballparks, while other national teams will take on Grapefruit League clubs. There are 28 pre-WBC exhibition games scheduled, overall.
To prepare for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, there will be exhibition games on March 3-4 between MLB teams and national teams competing in the WBC.

During the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Mexico was led by now-Mariners All-Star Randy Arozarena, along with Isaac Paredes and Joey Meneses. Diamondbacks outfielder Alek Thomas patrolled center field, representing his mother’s heritage.
Rosters have not yet been announced with early commits trickling in throughout the second half of the MLB season. Mark DeRosa will manage Team USA with Cal Raleigh, Aaron Judge, Paul Skenes and Bobby Witt Jr. already having committed.
Speaking of the Diamondbacks and Mexico, Arizona is expected to play the San Diego Padres in a two-game series in Mexico City next season.
Diamondbacks spring training schedule
The Diamondbacks return to Salt River Fields on Feb. 11, when pitchers and catchers report. Full-squad workouts begin five days later on Feb. 16, and their first Cactus League Game is on Feb. 20 against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields.
Arizona’s spring breakout game — which showcases the club’s top prospects against those of another organization — is set for March 21 against the Rockies.
The Diamondbacks will host the Cleveland Guardians for two games at Chase Field to end the exhibition slate on March 23-24.
Opening Day is on March 26, as the D-backs will visit the Dodgers to open the 2026 season. Arizona’s home opener is one March 30 against the Detroit Tigers.
