Gualtieri announces Roma’s definitive stadium plan by the end of November

During the presentation of the city’s fourth report, Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri returned to the topic of AS Roma’s new stadium.

“A major regeneration project sees Pietralata at the forefront, with the construction of the Rome Technopole, along with the future AS Roma Stadium, ready to be animated by the passion of the fans and the 2032 European Championships,” the mayor stated.

Gualtieri then emphasized the administration’s commitment to advancing the project: “This is a result we strongly desired. We have always been determined to make this dream a reality, applying the utmost rigor to compliance with the rules, but we are convinced that the new stadium, with an 11-hectare park, will be a source of joy that will benefit the entire city.”

“That’s why we are happy to announce that we will have the final design by November. It will be one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world.”

Finally, the mayor announced the next steps and also opened a dialogue with Lazio: “A major project, which we also want to accompany with the restoration of the Flaminio and a new home for Lazio, with whom we are open to discussions on the most appropriate procedure to move the project forward.”
