During the final episode Nick turned on his close ally Joe at the round table vote, leading to Joe’s unexpected banishment from the castle.

Taking to his Instagram, the actor penned a heartfelt apology to Joe along side a pic which saw Nick and Joe side by side in a poster style image with the words printed: “To you I’ll always be Faithful.”

The text had a big red X etched in the middle, Nick captioned the pic: “I’m SO sorry @joemarler17 (heart emoji) #TheCelebrityTraitors”

Fellow faithful Ruth Codd commented underneath: “Nick I love you SO MUCH but please go to your room and think about what you’ve done.”

Fans also flocked to the comments to share their reactions to the post, one user added: “The most devastating moment.”

“The betrayal! I thought you would have been loyal to him to the end,” added another.

A third chimed: “You were absolutely fantastic, I can only imagine the pressure and confusion trying to decide in the moment! Thank you for making some of the best reality tv in years!”

“ICONIC telly. Your friendship was so wholesome and your gasp when you realised it wasn’t Joe was so notable,” remarked a fourth.

During the final episode Nick decided to vote Joe out at the round table, despite their previous strong alliance.

Nick admitted that Joe voting for Cat Burns and apologising for it beforehand was what “sealed it” and made him think he was actually a Traitor.

In earlier episodes Joe and Nick had made a pact to get Alan Carr and Cat voted out of the final, trusting each other that they were faithfuls.

Joe was left absolutely blindsided by his close pal Nick and the mistake led to Traitor Alan taking the crown and cash prize.

He was then seen shaking his head in disbelief before exiting the room, in his confessional he admitted: “I read it so wrong. It hurts. It hurts to be stabbed in the back last minute like that.

“Not even an inkling. Gutted.”

Nick wasn’t getting off easy either as the gloves came off for Joe at The Traitors: Uncloaked on Thursday.

Joe was asked how he felt watching the final back by host Ed Gamble, to which the faithful sarcastically remarked: “Yeah, it was fine. There were no issues whatsoever.

“Me and Nick are alright, me and David (Olusoga) are alright. I just struggled to make eye contact with them from now on.

Comedian Ed went on to recall that Joe had hurled angry insults at Nick and David, who also voted for Joe, whilst watching the final back at the reunion

“I mean, I was sitting in the row in front of you watching that, and when you saw you get banished, you did shout “scumbags” at them,” Ed recalled.

Looking shocked Joe quipped: “Did I? No, I didn’t mean that, I didn’t mean that.

“I said ‘what was it ?’ and it was because I was like you said being polite. I wasn’t saying sorry to Cat because I was Judas-ing her, like you did me,” this earned a raised eyebrow from Nick.

“I was saying sorry to Cat because I really liked her and enjoyed time together. So I was like, sorry mate, you know.”

Joe then exclaimed to Nick: “What happened?!

Before the actor replied: “When Joe and I text each other after we got out of the castle, he continually refers to me as Judas. And then occasionally replaces the U with a heart, which is quite nice.”
