The World Rugby Test window officially opens this week, with a whole host of rugby nations in action. England, Ireland and Scotland all play on Saturday, with Wales facing Argentina on Sunday afternoon in the only match of the day.
Despite the Test window only now being open, a number of teams were in action last week. England defeated a depleted Australia side 25-7 at Allianz Stadium in London, with Ireland losing out to New Zealand at Soldier Field in Chicago. There were also wins for Scotland and South Africa against USA and Japan, respectively.
Ireland will have felt hard done by last week when Tadhg Beirne was given a 20-minute red card for a largely insignificant incident with Kiwi legend Beauden Barrett.
Luckily for Ireland, that decision has been overturned by a panel and Beirne is now available for selection this weekend. This is the first time in four years that Ireland and Japan will play each other.
In what is also England’s second match of the autumn internationals, this week they will face Fiji in London. The most recent match between the nations was in the World Cup quarter-finals two years ago, where England won 30-24.
