Cumbria Remembrance Sunday events to take place

A parade from St Andrew’s Church in Penrith will set off at 10:40 and arrive at the war memorial at St Andrew’s Churchyard for a service at 11:00.
Penrith Town Council will also hold an event at Penrith Beacon at 18:55.
The Last Post will be played and names of the fallen from the town read out. The church bells at St Andrew’s will ring at 19:05.
Workington’s parade will start from Pow Street at 14:00, heading to Vulcan Park for a service by the Cenotaph.
The event ends at the Jane Street Royal British Legion branch where Workington Town Council is providing free food.
Some road closures are expected to be in place while parades take place.
Cumberland Council has also launched a webpage promoting support available for the armed forces community.
Councillor Andy Semple, the council’s chairman, said he hoped for a strong turnout on Sunday.
