Barcelona monitoring 16-year-old Hertha Berlin talent with massive potential

According to SPORT, Barcelona are keeping a close eye on one of Germany’s most promising young midfielders, Kennet Eichhorn, the 16-year-old pivot who has quickly risen through the ranks at Hertha Berlin.

The report suggests that Eichhorn’s progress has not gone unnoticed across Europe, with several top clubs showing serious interest. 

Among them, Barcelona have emerged as one of the main contenders, signalling their intent to recruit top talent from German football once again..

Even though Hertha Berlin currently compete in the 2. Bundesliga, Eichhorn’s performances have been nothing short of remarkable. 

Who is Kennet Eichhorn?

Having made his debut earlier this season, the teenager has wasted no time in cementing his place in the senior team’s midfield setup. 

His maturity on the ball, tactical awareness, and combative style have already made him a key figure despite his tender age.

So far, Eichhorn has featured in nine of Hertha’s 13 matches this season, including eight in the league and one in the DFB-Pokal.

While he has yet to register a goal or assist, his tenacity and defensive aggression stand out. 

In fact, he has already accumulated four yellow cards in eight Bundesliga 2 appearances, reflecting his fearless and competitive nature in midfield battles.

How much would he cost?

It is said that Eichhorn’s current market value sits around €20 million, and several European giants, including Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, and PSG, are monitoring his situation closely. 

If Hertha Berlin were to finalise a deal at that price, it would reportedly become one of the three most expensive transfers in the club’s history.

With Hansi Flick known for developing versatile and tactically intelligent players, a talent like Eichhorn could perfectly fit the Blaugrana’s long-term vision.
