Kyle Wootton in Stockport vs Luton

Dan Childs’s EFL predictions
Norwich vs Leicester predictions
Leicester have slipped into the bottom half of the Championship after winning just one of their last ten fixtures but they have a great chance to stop the rot when taking on third-bottom Norwich at Carrow Road.
Foxes’ manager Marti Cifuentes got off to a positive start in his new role with three victories secured from the opening four league matches of the campaign.
But Leicester’s winning habit soon disappeared and fan frustrations intensified on Tuesday when they side conceded a 96th minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough.
Four wins from 14 league games is well below expectations for a club which won the 2023-24 Championship title with a 97-point tally, but there is a long way to go and the trip to Norfolk looks a fantastic opportunity to turn the tide.
Norwich were another club with aims of challenging towards the top end of the division but they find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle.
The Canaries set an unwanted club record by losing their opening six home league games and there were more negatives than positives to come out of the midweek 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday which left them four points inside the relegation zone.
Liam Manning’s side were second best for long periods against the division’s basement boys and their substantial injury list got even longer when Jeffrey Schlupp was forced off with a hamstring strain.
The November break cannot come soon enough for Manning’s depleted squad but there may be more pain to come in the short term, with Leicester looking overpriced to increase the pain for the disgruntled Carrow Road regulars.
Southampton vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions
Wednesday’s players are continuing to dig deep in extremely difficult circumstances but their best efforts may not be enough to avoid a heavy defeat against Southampton at St Mary’s.
Championship survival looks almost impossible for the Owls, who were hit with a 12-point deduction and have been battling off-field problems all season.
But there was no lack of passion from the stands or motivation from the players as they battled to a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich on Wednesday.
Barry Bannan has been Wednesday’s standout player and his long range screamer was the highlight of the midweek clash which was full of endeavour but lacking in quality.
Owls’ manager Henrik Pedersen would love to freshen things up but his squad is desperately short of senior pros and the lack of depth could be a major hindrance against a Southampton side eager to push their way up the table.
Saints are mulling over who to install as their next permanent manager but they made a positive start under interim boss Tonda Eckert, who steered them to a 2-1 midweek win at QPR.
Eckert seemed to get an instant reaction from the players and he can lead them to a second win in four days.
Rotherham vs Lincoln predictions
Lincoln bowed out of the FA Cup last weekend with a penalty shootout loss at League Two Salford, but they are contenders in the League One promotion race and can improve their chances by defeating Rotherham at the New York Stadium.
Michael Skubala’s side are winless in three games but there wasn’t much wrong with their performance in a 0-0 draw at Bradford a fortnight ago.
The Imps gave as good as they got against the Bantams and they can claim maximum points against the Millers, who are getting stretched by a few too many injuries.
Rotherham came from two goals behind in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at home to Burton, but they were disjointed for large parts of the game and could be outclassed by the fifth-placed Imps.
Crawley vs Fleetwood predictions
In-form Fleetwood have racked up seven points from their last three league games and they look the likelier winners at lowly Crawley.
Crawley were beaten 3-0 at Boreham Wood in the FA Cup first round and look poor favourites against Fleetwood, who are 13 places and ten points above them.
