Coventry star carried off on stretcher seconds after scoring goal of the season contender as medics rush on to pitch

COVENTRY star Ephron Mason-Clark scored a late winner against Stoke before immediately being carried off injured on a stretcher.
The forward hit an 86th minute goal-of-the-season contender to boost Frank Lampard’s table-toppers away from home.

Mason-Clark produced an excellent scissor kick to bag all three points for the Championship promotion hopefuls.
It sparked wild scenes as his Coventry teammates celebrated jubilantly.
However, the party quickly ended as Mason-Clark failed to get up following his amazing bit of acrobatics.
The forward had fallen hard on the floor after colliding with a Stoke opponent while striking the match-winning shot.

Mason-Clark lay in agony on the ground as medics rushed onto the field.
The game was then stopped for a lengthy period of time as docs tried to figure out the issue.
But it did not look good for Mason-Clark, who was unable to get himself off the field.
Instead, Coventry summoned a stretcher to carry the star off.

And he looked in a world of pain when he should have instead been toasting his latest goal contribution.
It saw 11 minutes of injury time added to the game.

But with extra stoppages for subs, the match went on for an extra 15 minutes.
Sky later reported that Mason-Clark had suffered a concussion.
