ESPN announces Patrick Mahomes as College GameDay guest picker for Texas Tech football game

Surprise!
ESPN’s College GameDay is in Lubbock this weekend for the Texas Tech football team’s Top 10 showdown with BYU inside Jones AT&T Stadium. And to make the occasion even bigger, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and former Red Raider legend Patrick Mahomes will be the guest picker to close the show.
Mahomes’ presence in Lubbock for this game has been known for a while. Texas Tech will be wearing their new adidas-Mahomes “Too Cold” white uniforms for the game, which was announced back in September.
The three-time Super Bowl champion is able to attend this week’s game thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs being on a bye week. The Chiefs are 5-4 on the season and had their three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday with a 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. They’ll return to action Nov. 16 with a game at the Denver Broncos.
College GameDay will be held in the green area west of the Jones AT&T Stadium parking lot to begin and will conclude inside the stadium ahead of the 11 a.m. kickoff time. Mahomes will join host Rece Davis and analysts Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit on the set.
Head coach Joey McGuire will also join the crew on set during the pregame show.
