Is Elijah Sarratt playing today? Indiana WR injury news is big deal for Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers are having the season of a lifetime.

It looks like they’ll have to continue it Saturday just a tad shorthanded.

Elijah Sarratt, the star IU wide receiver, was expected to be a game-time decision for the Hoosiers for their Saturday matchup with Maryland.

Sarratt is dealing with the always tricky hamstring injury.

The WR leads Indiana with 10 touchdown catches as part of 45 receptions overall.

Is Elijah Sarratt playing today?

The Hoosiers never ruled Sarratt out, so there’s nothing guaranteed, but in the early going, it doesn’t seem like Sarratt is playing against Maryland.

The first sign was in starter introductions. Sarratt wasn’t named as one of the starting wide receivers.

And on the first drive for IU, Sarratt didn’t play.

Indiana goes three-and-out on its first possession. Dani Dennis-Sutton leveled Fernando Mendoza on third down.

Don’t believe I saw Elijah Sarratt out there for the Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers likely don’t want to risk making a hamstring injury worse in a game they’re heavily favored to win.

Sarratt’s status may get more clarity from coach Curt Cignetti after the game, if his early non-usage continues the rest of the way.
