According to AccuWeather, the morning will start at 58 degrees under partly sunny conditions around 9 a.m. Temperatures will steadily climb to 62 degrees by 11 a.m. as clouds give way to sunnier skies.
The day’s high of 66 degrees is forecast for 2 p.m., just in time for kickoff, with mostly sunny conditions continuing throughout the afternoon. Northwest winds will remain light at about 8 mph, creating calm conditions.
Those planning outdoor activities can expect favorable weather during midday hours, as the chance of precipitation drops from 38% in the early morning to 0% by 1 p.m.
Fans should pack a jacket or sweater as the evening will bring cooler temperatures, with readings falling to 61 degrees by 5 p.m. Partly cloudy skies will accompany the temperature drop into the low 50s after 8 p.m.
The Scarlet Knights must defeat the Terrapins to keep their slim bowl bid hopes alive, and while the visitors have a slightly larger margin for error, they’ll want to scratch off one of the two wins they need in Piscataway.
History lands on Maryland’s side: In the first five times these teams have played at Rutgers since they joined the Big Ten together in 2014, the Terrapins won four of those matchups. The Scarlet Knights have not beaten Maryland at home since the 2017 season, the peak of former head coach Chris Ash’s best season at the helm.
