Although he’s most known for being a presenter on BBC Radio 2, Richie Anderson decided to take to the dancefloor three years ago when he took part in Strictly Come Dancing.
Sadly, his time on the programme was cut short as he was the second celebrity to leave the show with his partner, Giovanni Pernice, as the judges opted to save Fleur East at the time, before she joined It Takes Two.
However, since his time on the beloved programme, Richie has remained in the TV spotlight as he’s fronted shows such as Escape to the Country and has been a regular face on Morning Live.
While appearing on Morning Live this week, the 38-year-old shared his experience of being involved in a hit-and-run car accident.
Sharing his time on the show with his Instagram followers, he confessed how anxious he was to open up about the situation.

He captioned the post: “I was invited on to share my recent experience of my car being involved in a hit and run incident and being written off by an uninsured driver.
“I hope the advice I gave for anybody who happens to find themself in the same unfortunate situation was helpful and also my tips for those currently in their car insurance renewal stage.
“I was really anxious about sharing such a personal story, but I’m so glad I did, and I’m grateful to the Morning Live team both on and off camera for being so kind and supportive.”
It wasn’t long before people rushed to support Richie with many admiring his bravery in sharing the incident so publicly.

Explaining the situation on the show, Richie shared that he had parked his car outside of his mum’s house when visiting her in September
Sharing the footage, which was captured on a neighbour’s camera, Richie described it as ‘absolutely shocking’ as the collision caused a lamppost to fall over due to the speed the vehicle was going.
Morning Live is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
