A well-rested Wisconsin Badgers football team continues its tough stretch of the season after a bye week when it entertains the Washington Huskies in a Big Ten Conference game on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Camp Randall Stadium
The game comes days after Badgers fans got what many consider surprising news. Athletics director Chris McIntosh announced that coach Luke Fickell will return for his fourth season in Madison next year.
There could be a change at quarterback for Wisconsin with freshman Carter Smith possibly seeing his first action. Smith, who’s considered a dual-threat quarterback, was a four-star recruit coming out of Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Huskies, ranked No. 23 in this week’s initial college football playoff top 25, are one of seven opponents in an eight-game stretch for the Badgers that were in the rankings.
The rankings highlighted the difficulty of UW’s season. The Badgers have already played No. 1 Ohio State, No. 4 Alabama, No. 9 Oregon, No. 20 Iowa and No. 21 Michigan. Still on the schedule are Washington and No. 2 Indiana.
