Influencer Peighton Tubre is setting the record straight.
On Nov. 5, the content creator — known by over 1 million followers online for her football commentary — took to Instagram to address speculation that she was having an affair with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
“Recently, there was an article posted on Facebook saying that I was having an affair with Garrett Nussmeier, that we were seen entering a hotel room together the night before one of his games,” began the internet personality in a video.
When she first saw the post, Tubre said it had only 30 likes, so she didn’t initially respond because she didn’t want to “bring attention” to it, she explained.
“I was just kind of hoping that it was going to go away and nobody was going to see it,” she added.

“Spoiler alert. Everyone saw it,” continued Tubre. “People are blowing up my phone. People are reaching out to my family members, which is really weird.”
The influencer added that after the initial article, someone sent her another that claimed “Garrett sent me unsolicited photos that made me uncomfortable and I posted the screenshots on social media.”

“If you follow me, you know that I didn’t post anything like that,” said Tubre.
“It’s just fake,” concluded the influencer, debunking the rumors. “It’s all fake.”

Notably, Nussmeier got down on one knee earlier this year to propose to his girlfriend Ella Springfield. In a joint Instagram post from July, they captioned the post: “Forever and always, yes yes yes.”
After her initial statement, Tubre made light of the situation in a follow-up post on TikTok, lip-syncing to a viral audio from ex-LSU head coach Brian Kelly, who said, “We’re sitting here again — we’re sitting here again talking about the same things!”
She overlaid the video with the text, “When they post another fake article about me & Garrett Nussmeier.”
