Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid looks fantastic – and she’s always been candid about her lifestyle choices. The 54-year-old has previously shared her method for dropping a stone and a half, which the mum-of-three accomplished without stepping into a gym.
Like countless people, Susanna admitted she put on several pounds during the coronavirus lockdowns. She revealed she then struggled tremendously to “lose those pounds”.
Susanna had earlier admitted she avoids gym workouts whilst broadcasting on GMB in December 2018, the Liverpool Echo reported. During a discussion with former co-presenter Piers Morgan, she said: “I stopped going to the gym, I found it made me too hungry.
“I’ve levelled out, I lost a stone-and-a-half and that’s enough, and I don’t go to the gym.”
Susanna has also shared with Prima magazine how her weight loss began when she consulted her GP about skin issues. Her doctor noted the star was at the upper limit of her height’s healthy BMI bracket and suggested she shed weight.

She then focused on eating more nutritiously and eliminated snacking during her hectic work routine, acknowledging that she now feels “fantastic”. Susanna Reid has been on Good Morning Britain since it launched in 2014, moving over to the ITV show from her role on BBC Breakfast in the same year, meaning she has been a presenter for over 10 years.
She told the magazine: “I have to admit, I’d been feeling a little heavy for a while.” Susanna put an end to cravings after pinpointing the cause as her extremely early 4am alarm call.
She explained to ITV colleague Lorraine Kelly: “It can creep up without you noticing, and what I did was cut out snacking. I found waking up so early in the morning you’re in a sort of energy deficit. All your body can think is ‘have toast, have biscuits, have calories’, and you can pile [weight] on really quickly.”

Susanna claimed that she eats fish but tends to avoid other meats, and she gave up alcohol in 2019 due to its negative effects on her skin. She explained how drinking made her skin condition worse, causing the blood vessels on her face to burst, which resulted in permanent scarring.
Speaking to The Times, she said: “I’m rather glad I’ve given up drink because lockdown drinking, the pandemic prosecco, has been a serious issue. I gave up because a doctor told me to.
“I was concerned because my skin was flushed, I kept getting flare-ups and blemishes, and they were leaving red scars. My skin was probably a manifestation of what I was putting into my body.”
Susanna has been committed to her teetotal lifestyle, even forgoing drinks during her 50th birthday celebrations. However, she admitted that one repercussion of her sobriety was Piers Morgan labelling her “the world’s biggest bore”.
