Is ‘SNL’ New Tonight and Who’s Hosting? (November 8, 2025)

Saturday Night Live Season 51 has already featured some impressive hosts, including Bad Bunny, Amy Poehler, Sabrina Carpenter, and Miles Teller. The popular sketch show by creator Lorne Michaels has been airing on NBC since 1975, and celebrated its 50th anniversary with a three-hour special event earlier in the year. Over the course of its run, SNL has received a whopping 84 Emmy wins, the most out of any other television show in history, and has been hailed by many as one of the greatest TV shows of all time. The series is headlined by a supremely talented ensemble of comic performers, a host (often there to promote a new project), a musical guest, and numerous cameos.

Saturday Night Live has helped skyrocket the careers of some of the biggest names in film and television, including Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Maya Rudolph, Jason Sudeikis, Tracy Morgan, Will Ferrell, and Pete Davidson, and that’s just to name a few. The sketch show has even branched out of television and has turned some of its fan-favorite sketches into feature films, such as Wayne’s World, The Blues Brothers, Coneheads, MacGruber, and Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain.

Hosting this week’s episode of SNL is stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser. This will mark the stand-up comedian’s first time hosting the ever-popular sketch series.

Nikki Glaser has been working in the industry for over 20 years, but officially became a household name thanks to her performance on last year’s The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix. Of course, that wasn’t Glaser’s first comedy roast, having also participated in the Comedy Central Roasts of Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis, and Alec Baldwin. Glaser has also hosted several reality dating shows, such as Blind Date, FBoy Island, and Lovers and Liars. She also hosted her own talk show in 2016 with the Comedy Central series, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser.

Glaser is also known for her collaborations with fellow female stand-up comic Amy Schumer, having appeared in the sketch series Inside Amy Schumer and having minor roles in Schumer’s comedy films Trainwreck and I Feel Pretty.

This past January, Glaser made waves when she became the first solo female host of the Golden Globes, a role she will be returning to for next year’s awards. It was also recently reported that Glaser will be teaming up with producer Judd Apatow for an R-rated comedy film that she will produce, write, and star in for Universal Pictures.

As a stand-up comic, Glaser has done four stand-up specials, including Nikki Glaser’s Perfect in 2016, Bangin’ in 2019, Good Clean Filth in 2022, and Someday You’ll Die in 2024.

The musical guests this season include Doja Cat, Role Model, Sabrina Carpenter, and Brandi Carlile.
