West Brom striker reckons Liverpool could end up signing Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest

Daryl Dike thinks that Elliot Anderson could end up becoming a Liverpool player in the near future.

At the moment, Liverpool’s main defensive midfielder is Ryan Gravenberch, and although there have been links with a move for Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, nothing has yet come to fruition regarding that deal.

Arne Slot has Wataru Endo to cover Gravenberch’s place in case he needs a rest, with others such as Stefan Bajcetic and James McConnell likely to be in line too.

Despite the Reds having all of these options available to them, that hasn’t stopped rumours from being shared.

They already went through a massive amount of change in the summer transfer window, but with how their season has panned out thus far, it’s clear that they still need some new additions.

A new defensive midfielder is likely to be on top of Liverpool’s list, with West Brom striker Dike sharing why Nottingham Forest’s Anderson could end up playing for the Anfield outfit.

Daryl Dike thinks Elliot Anderson is like a young Jordan Henderson

Over the last 10 or so years, Liverpool have had some exceptional midfielders.

In fact, some of the Reds’ best-ever players, such as Steven Gerrard, have been central midfielders.

And, even though Gravenberch is still early on in his career, if he continues progressing as he has done over the last year or so, he could become an unreal player.

Others, such as Dominik Szoboszlai, have also been dominating Liverpool’s headlines with their midfield now integral to the way that they play.

And, while taking to his personal TikTok account, West Brom striker Dike has shared his thoughts on why he could see Anderson joining Liverpool.

“Elliot Anderson, I think he’s a young Jordan Henderson. He’s going to be there, he’s going to have leadership qualities. I wouldn’t doubt him playing for Liverpool in the near future, he is him, he is him.”

Elliot Anderson would be an incredible signing for Liverpool

Since Gravenberch is among their ranks, Liverpool already have one of the Premier League’s best defensive midfielders.

Although he didn’t really live up to his potential until last season, since then, he’s come on leaps and bounds under Slot’s guidance.

He’s the glue that holds the Reds’ midfield together, but the arrival of Anderson would take the team to a whole new level.

The former Newcastle man didn’t cost Nottingham Forest all that much to sign, but, seeing as though he’s been able to play regularly each week, his performance levels have skyrocketed.

In fact, he’s even become one of Thomas Tuchel’s first names on his England teamsheet, with his place in the Three Lions’ World Cup squad almost guaranteed.

It would raise the question of who to start between the two if Liverpool were to sign him, but if they want to be the best of the best, they need to have at least two top-class players per position, and, at the moment, Endo isn’t cutting it.
