Brentford boss Keith Andrews believes Newcastle United paid a ‘really good fee’ for a ‘really good player’ in Yoane Wissa.
But he insists the Bees came out of the situation ‘well’ after his £55million move to Newcastle was confirmed on transfer deadline day.
The Magpies spent all summer chasing the 29-year-old’s signature and the two clubs eventually agreed on a fee in the dying embers of the transfer window.
However, Wissa then picked up a knee injury while on international duty with DR Congo in September and he is yet to kick a ball for Eddie Howe’s side this season.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
So when Newcastle make the trip to West London to take on Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday, Wissa will not be involved.
And Andrews has admitted he was ‘not too displeased’ to see they wouldn’t have to come up against their former forward at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“Yoane Wissa is a very good player,” Andrews said.
“So I am not too displeased that he is not going to be available because it’s the nature of competing against other teams.

“Around the transfer window, I was glad when it was closed, it wasn’t enjoyable for a lot of people, I would imagine. I think the nature of that deal in particular, there was a lot made around certain aspects of it.
“Ultimately, Newcastle United paid a really good fee for a player of a certain age, a really good player, but I think we as a club did pretty well out of that.”
Newcastle will take on Brentford on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off at 2pm.
