Xabi Alonso weighing up heavy rotation for Rayo Vallecano visit

According to AS, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is expected to make several bold changes to his starting XI when his side face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
After the recent setback against Liverpool, the coach is keen to inject fresh energy and intensity into the squad, a move that could see a number of fringe players finally get their opportunity to shine.

Sources suggest that Raul Asencio, Dani Ceballos, and Rodrygo are all in contention to start, while Trent Alexander-Arnold could return to the line-up at right-back.
The English defender, who endured a difficult cameo at Anfield, is now believed to be fully fit and ready to take on a more active role under Alonso’s management.
Despite the frosty reception he received from Liverpool supporters, his professionalism and determination to settle in Madrid have reportedly impressed the coaching staff.

The Spaniard understands the importance of keeping his key players fresh while ensuring the squad remains competitive on all fronts.
As such, Asensio has so far logged just 509 minutes this campaign, featuring in the Champions League against Kairat Almaty and Juventus, and domestically vs Espanyol and Levante.

Ceballos, meanwhile, has been given four starts against Kairat Almaty, Real Sociedad, Levante, and Villarreal, showcasing flashes of creativity that Alonso values highly.
As for Rodrygo, the Brazilian forward with 348 minutes under his belt, has started in clashes against Olympique Marseille, Oviedo, and Getafe, and is eager to make his mark once again.
This rotation plan could be a defining moment for Real Madrid’s depth, as Alonso looks to maintain balance amid a congested calendar and reclaim momentum following their Liverpool defeat.
