The current war for human talent between the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman has produced perverse outcomes – like billion-dollar rem packages offered in a poachfest that’s turned signing AI researchers into a phenomenon akin to European football’s summer transfer window.
Something similar is going on at this country’s big four banks. Three newish CEOs – Nuno Matos at ANZ, Westpac’s Anthony Miller and NAB’s Andrew Irvine – have called open season on picking each other’s pockets. Even better if they’re reaching into Matt Comyn’s at CBA.
