Strictly Come Dancing newcomers Julian Caillon and his dance partner Balvinder Sopal have been hit with another setback, as they are the bookies’ favourites to be eliminated for the second week in a row.

Despite narrowly avoiding elimination last week, according to Betway, the pair may not be so fortunate this Saturday night, with odds of 100/1 on them leaving the competition, which would mean missing out on performing at the iconic Blackpool Tower.

Hot on their heels is Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, who has odds of 50/1, followed by La Voix, with odds of 40/1 to be sent home.

On the flip side, George Clarke remains the bookies’ favourite to win the contest.

Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope is in second place with odds of 9/4, while Alex Kingston holds third place with odds of 4/1, reports the Express.

Last weekend saw Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola exit the show in a surprise elimination.

The duo found themselves in the dance-off against Julian and Balvinder, but the judges chose to save the EastEnders star, resulting in Ellie’s departure.

Reflecting on her Strictly journey, Ellie said with a smile, “I’ve enjoyed it so much! He is a kind person and all I wanted from day one.

“You have been so heartwarming, thank you to you [Vito].'”

An emotional Vito told Ellie: “Honestly, there are no words I can use to describe how proud I am of you and you did really change my life so much. You made me such a better person.

“At the beginning of this year, I said to myself, ‘Please, please, please, can you send me a beautiful angel into my life?’ And now you arrived. I’ve never had a little sister but I always wanted one.

“Now, I have you and you’re my little sister forever, and your big brother is always by your side.”

Earlier in the week, Balvinder and Julian made an appearance on It Takes Two, where they discussed finding themselves in the dance-off once more.

Speaking to It Takes Two presenter Fleur East, Balvinder admitted: “The rumba, it was the hardest thing to learn.

“Literally, on Tuesday, I’d thrown the towel in and went, ‘I can’t do it,’ I sat in a corner and cried.

“Jules was standing there and went, ‘When you’re ready, bro… we’ve got to get this done’.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs this evening at 6.30pm on BBC One.
