Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has decided to keep Marcus Thuram on the bench for tonight’s Serie A clash against Lazio at San Siro, pairing young French striker Ange-Yoan Bonny with Lautaro Martinez.
This Serie A Matchday 11 encounter kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 GMT) in Milan.
Inter want to produce a more convincing performance after narrow wins over Hellas Verona and Kairat Almaty. The latter came in the Champions League.
Chivu has demanded “a different attitude” from his players after midweek and restores several key starters, including Akanji, Bastoni, Calhanoglu, and Sucic.

Firstly, the Croatian midfielder gets the nod over Piotr Zielinski.
Time Running Out For Acerbi At Inter But Veteran Starts Against Former Club

Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi returns to the starting eleven, with Yann Bisseck on the bench.
Acerbi had been expected to start ahead of the German, after Bisseck had displaced the veteran Italian in recent weeks.

With Acerbi’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, it appears as though time is running out for the former Lazio man.
Therefore, today could be a valuable opportunity to prove what he can do.
Matteo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Tomas Palacios, and Raffaele Di Gennaro remain unavailable through injury.

Marcus Thuram once again starts from the bench for Inter, with Chivu putting faith in youngster Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Reports before the game suggested it could be the first time Thuram starts a game for Inter since the injury suffered against Slavia Prague.
Indeed, Thuram has recovered well and is back in the squad, but once again starts from the bench.

He was deployed for a brief cameo in the midweek win over Kairat in the Champions League.
