Strictly Come Dancing’s Karen Hauer issues health update on dog Betty after cancer surgery
Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer has been sharing regular updates on her beloved dog Betty after she was diagnosed with cancer last month

Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer has provided a heartfelt update on her dog Betty’s condition after the pet underwent surgery.
The dancer informed followers that Betty is back home and recuperating following the operation.
The cherished companion was recently given a cancer diagnosis and has since been having additional tests to evaluate her health.

Betty was pictured sporting a blue surgical recovery outfit in an image posted to Karen’s Instagram stories.
She captioned the post: “Our brave girl is home. A little bit out of it after surgery, but she’s doing so well. Now we wait for results.”
She then posted another update featuring a video of Betty resting in her bed whilst Karen sat on the floor next to her, gently stroking her ears.
In the footage, Karen revealed that she and her partner, former rugby player Simon Davidson, had barely slept with just hours remaining before she needed to leave for work ahead of tonight’s live Strictly performance alongside her celebrity partner Harry Aikines-Aryeetey.

Nevertheless, she acknowledged that Betty had managed a decent night’s sleep and was making good progress following her surgery, reports the Mirror.
Speaking in the clip Karen said: “Just a little update on Betty. She slept okay last night, even though there were fireworks, and she’s not a fan of fireworks. But she managed to get some rest. Simon and I, really we didn’t get much sleep.
“He’s about to go running in a bit and then I’m going off to work in a bit as well. But she is very comfortable in her little suit, and all the other doggies are giving her some love.
“Even though they want to give her cuddles and kisses they’re trying to be good and stay away from her now.
“But she’s doing good. Our little baby. One day at a time.”
In a subsequent update, she showed Betty embarking on a gentle stroll with Simon, still donned in her post-surgery attire.
Karen broke the heart-wrenching news of Betty’s diagnosis to her followers on social media last month.
At that time, she posted photos of Betty, including some from recent vet visits, and explained, “Last week Simon felt two small lumps on Betty’s belly and under her armpit. We took her to the vet, and the results showed traces of cancer. Our hearts broke.
“It’s grade one as far as we know, and our vets have been absolutely incredible. They’ll be doing further tests to make sure they have all the info and can guide us through the next steps to give our Betty the best treatment possible.”
She then issued a cautionary note to fans regarding their own pets, saying, “Please check your fur babies for any lumps or bumps… early detection can make all the difference.”
